Unlike modern finance SaaS, Family Finance keeps your ledger on your Mac. The App Sandbox disables network client and server access by default. CSV parsing, PDF statement extraction, and Vision OCR all run locally. Optional sync uses your private iCloud container via CloudKit — we never host or see your data.

Receipt OCR & Itemization
Drop receipt images or scanned PDFs into the Receipts workspace. On-device Vision OCR extracts merchants, line items, and distributes tax and discounts proportionally — with automatic card-suffix or cash account routing.
Rules & Action Items
Priority-ordered category and tag rules match payees and item memos. Seeded grocery and dining keywords help on first launch. An Action Items tab surfaces uncategorized transactions for bulk updates and retroactive rule application.
